Do stadiums need solar energy?

While more and more stadiums take the leap to develop on-site solar energy generation systems to minimize the environmental impact of their energy use while realizing the associated financial and brand benefits, there is significant potential to do more.

How many solar panels are installed at pro sports facilities?

Since the first edition of the BEF/NRDC Solar Guide was published, the installation of solar arrays has proliferated at professional and collegiate sports facilities. As of this writing, there are 18 solar installations at pro sports facilities in North America (11 of which were installed since 2010) and many more around the world.

Is a golden age of solar installation coming to sports facilities?

Collegiate athletic and recreation facilities across the United States have installed more than three dozen solar arrays. Long overdue, a Golden Age of solar installation at sports facilities seems to be emerging. Numerous sports venue operators cite the BEF/NRDC Solar Guide as a useful tool they relied on to navigate the launch of their projects.
