What is the Da'an integrated wind-solar green hydrogen & ammonia demonstration project?

On July 19, The Da'an Integrated Wind-solar Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Demonstration Project has achieved three major milestones: successful energization of the main step-down substation, successful production of high-purity green hydrogen, and stable output of qualified nitrogen gas.

What is Da'an project?

Da’an Project is a vivid practice of the “Northern China Hydrogen Valley” strategy. It is designed following the whole industry chain of “green hydrogen consumes green electricity, green ammonia consumes green hydrogen, and energy load and storage are integrated through internet of things”.

Why is Da'an project important for Jilin Province in 2022?

The project has achieved six domestic firsts in technology and three internationally leading technologies, making it a key project for Jilin Province in 2022. As the world's largest green synthesis ammonia project, the Da'an Project tendered a total of 39 sets of 1000 Nm³/h alkaline electrolysis water hydrogen production systems.

How can a Da'an plant solve China's energy challenges?

By channeling otherwise curtailed wind and solar power into industrial chemistry, the Da’an plant addresses one of China’s pressing energy challenges: how to manage intermittent renewable output while reducing reliance on coal-heavy grids.
