Which methods are suitable for remote monitoring and control of battery management system?

Abstract: In this research article, two methods suitable for remote monitoring and control of battery management system (BMS), respectively are proposed. The methods use controller area network (CAN) communication and internet of things (IoT) device for cloud-based analysis and management.

Battery Management Systems (BMS) play a critical role in optimizing battery performance of BES by monitoring parameters such as overcharging, the state of health (SoH), cell protection, real-time data, and fault detection to ensure reliability.

What is a cloud-based battery management system (BMS)?

As summarised in Table 1, a cloud-based BMS offers several improvements and advantages and opens multiple new horizons to monitor and control battery packs compared to a conventional BMS in different dimensions. Based on the discussions presented in the sections so far, the next section will introduce the perspective IBMS.
