What is a bridge type inverter?

The simplest form of an inverter is the bridge-type, where a power bridge is controlled according to the sinusoidal pulse-width modulation (SPWM) principle and the resulting SPWM wave is filtered to produce the alternating output voltage. In many applications, it is important for an inverter to be lightweight and of a relatively small size.

Which inverter is best for a 48v battery?

In the 48V case, transistors and drivers that can handle at least 100V on the power nodes are a good choice. In a mild hybrid application, realizing the most efficient use of battery power is one of the keys to meeting miles-per-gallon (mpg) and CO2 emission targets.
