How does a battery inverter work?

When connected properly and the power switch is turned to the (I) position, the inverter draws power from a battery and delivers a true sine wave AC output voltage. If the battery voltage is within the operating range of the unit, the inverter will continue to deliver AC power to the loads connected.

What is a power inverter?

A power inverter is a device that converts DC power from a normal household battery, car battery or solar battery to AC power that can be used to run appliances and other devices. The wattage of a power inverter determines how much power it can deliver.

What does an inverter charger do?

Inverter Chargers (also known as “through inverters”) do the job of a battery inverter as well as a converter, all in one device. They provide AC power from the DC battery source in addition to charging your batteries off of shore power when you are plugged into an electrical outlet.
