What makes a telecom battery pack compatible with a base station?

Why do cellular base stations have backup batteries?

While maintaining the reliability, the backup batteries of 5G BSs have some spare capacity over time due to the traffic-sensitive characteristic of 5G BS electricity load.

How does a BMS measure a battery pack?

Generally, a BMS measures bidirectional battery pack current both in charging mode and discharging mode. A method called Coulomb counting uses these measured currents to calculate the SoC and SoH of the battery pack. The magnitude of currents during charging and discharging modes could be drastically different by one or two orders of magnitude.
